is an exciting addition to Braun's Personal mobility product line.
For the first time ever, wheelchair users can enjoy an accessible
vehicle that will truly "take them anywhere." The truck will look

the narrow streets of the city.
The Braun Sport Lift™ Pickup—built-in functionality. Wheelchair
users have the option of choosing a conversion with or without a
lowered floor. Those who will not be a driver may choose the
passenger-side conversion, with a spacious lowered floor area and
automatic doors. The driver-side conversion offers total
independence, allowing the wheelchair user to drive. Whichever you
choose, you'll enjoy a new level of accessibility, along with a
new level of independence.
The Braun Vangater™—there when you need it. Beneath the sporty
good looks of the truck is the Braun UVL lift, the heart and soul
of the conversion. The lift remains out of sight and out of your
way until it's needed. One touch of a button on the standard
remote control system opens the automatic doors and extends the
platform from its weathertight enclosure, ready to assist you into
the vehicle. Thoughtful features such as the automatic roll stop
and the manual backup pump add to the UVL's safety and
convenience.
The Braun Sport Lift™—versatile seating. The pickup features a
quick-release seat for the lowered floor area, which can be
installed when ambulatory seating is desired. In addition, the
truck's spacious interior offers plenty of seating for the whole
family. When more cargo space is required, the back bench seat
folds flush against the back of the cab. This also affords more
space to maneuver wheelchairs in the lowered floor area.

SYSTEM OPERATION
The operator activates the standard remote control
transmitter or utilizes the taillight magnetic switches to
open the truck's doors. When the doors are completely open,
the UVL lift extends from its enclosure and raises to
vehicle floor level or lowers to ground level (depending on
the function activated). The wheelchair user boards the
platform and then activates the appropriate function to
raise or lower the lift. With the cycle complete, the
operator activates the "lift stow" button, causing the lift
to retract into its enclosure. After the lift stows, the
operator activates the "door close" button to close the
automatic doors. |
LIFT
SYSTEM DESCRIPTION
The lift is powered by a hydraulic pump module, located in a
weather tight enclosure in the pickup's bed. A single-acting
hydraulic cylinder raises the platform to vehicle floor
level. The lift is lowered by gravity. An electric motor
extends and retracts the platform from the weather tight
enclosure underneath the vehicle. The automatic roll stop is
activated by an electric actuator, and the lift features a
manual backup system in the event of vehicle electric
failure.
CONVERSION CONTROLS
Standard controls include a remote control system with one
hand-held pendant control, and taillight magnetic switches.
DOOR OPERATORS
The front and quad doors are operated by electric linear
actuators. The doors may be opened manually in the event of
power failure.
